Fire Safety Labels and Reuse
Upholstered furniture sold in the UK has to meet fire safety rules, and charities will only take sofas that still carry the label. If yours has one and is in good condition, tell us and we will try to get it reused rather than recycled.

Frequently Asked Sofa Collection Questions
Can a sofa go to charity?
Only if it is in good condition and still carries its fire safety label. Charities cannot accept upholstered furniture without the label. If it can be passed on, we will try.
Will a large corner sofa fit through the door?
If it came in, it can go out. Corner and modular sofas usually separate into sections, and we can take legs off where needed.
Can you collect from a flat?
Yes — from any floor. Narrow staircases are fine; tell us about them when you enquire.
Does the council take sofas?
The council's bulky collection will take a sofa as one of up to three items per booking, left outside for collection. It is not available to landlords or businesses. If you cannot get the sofa out yourself, or you need it gone sooner, we carry it out for you.
